The United States Association of Rudimental Drummers will be holding its third annual convention on the weekend of April 20 – 22, 2012 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
As with previous USARD conventions, there will various clinics and presentations on the history and application of the drum rudiments.
Jim Clark, prominent percussionist, teacher, arranger and rudimental drumming historian will be discussing early American rudimental drumming. He will also be presenting his new book, Connecticut’s Fife and Drum Tradition.
Jeff Salisbury, drum-set instructor at the University of Vermont will be returning this year to continue his presentation of the application of standard drum rudiments to the drum set.
As a clinic, DCI Hall of Fame Member, Thom Hannum will present a drum piece with accompanying video excerpts titled "Rudimental Ritual"
Clinician Bill Messerschmidt explores traditional rudimental drumming and its relevance from three important perspectives: the original historic application; as the technical basis for modern rudimental drumming as well as other areas of percussion and its benefits for artistic musical interpretation.
Clinic - “Scottish Pipe Band Drumming: A Rhythm & Rudimental Context” will be offered by John Bosworth and Jon Quigg.
John and Barbara Flowers will be performing a clinic on basic rudimental drumming with emphasis on syncopated sticking variations.
A special presentation The U.S. Army West Point HELLCATS Drum Ensemble lead by SFC Jeff Prosperie
Continuing with the exciting contributions from our military musicians will be the performance of The U.S. Army’s, 3rd Infantry, “The Old Guard” Fife & Drum Corps’ Percussion Ensemble.
Besides the clinics there will be performances of different USARD chapters and members’ ensembles.

· The St. Lucy’s Alumni Snare Drum Trio with Chew Gernandt.
